Steps to Start

While most people follow the same set of guidelines to start their business, there are a few unique steps involved in the creation of a music education establishment. 

          1. Determine what instrument or instruments you will teach.

          2. Determine your lesson or class rates.

          3. Create written documentation of all lesson or class guidelines and expectations.

          4. Obtain all necessary materials such as sheet music, study tools and practice                              instruments. ​

Professional Organizations

Professional organizations are a great way to learn more about an industry and receive advice from those individuals who have achieved success. Such organizations can exist on the local, state, national and international level. Professional organizations also offer networking and specialized tools relevant to your industry.
